  • Great improvement over what you had before check out my solar panels I made they are high power and my charge controller on my channel.

  • @HotSauceJohnny I never have…let me know what you come up with on yours.

  • Have you ever calculated how many kWh you can save over an average month with a system this size? I was looking at these panels, and a few from Northern Tool to create an experimental system for under $500.

  • @timmylongdong because a grid tied inverter is $8000us.
Also the size of this system would not make a difference on the bill.
PLUS without batteries you can’t use the system at night.
Or at all……grid tieds only feed back….means you can’t plug nothing in.

  • I WAS THINKING OF GETTING ONE OF THESE SYSTEMS FROM HARBOR TOOL SO THANKS FOR SHARING. COULD YOU TELL ME WHY YOU CHOSE TO CONNECT TO A BATTERY AND CHARGE IT VERSUS KICKING THE ELECTRICITY RIGHT BACK TO THE ELECTRIC COMPANY FOR A CREDIT? IT SEEMS THAT WOULD ALLEVIATE A LOT OF HEADACHE OF HAVING TO REWIRE AND EVEN NOT NEEDING BATTERIES. THANKS

  • @london1817 Thanks for the reply. I am researching Harbor Freight’s basic 45 watt system as we speak! I’ll keep you advised.

  • @frugalnanny Thanks for the comment!

  • thank you for sharing I saved this for my husband to see tonight.
    please keep them comming.

  • @sonicspeed2009

Noooooo. Use a 24 volt inverter, with a 24 volt system. You can wire 12-volt batteries in parallel, rather than series, and they will remain 12-volts.

  • @ginostatus Lol, What college did you go to?? (P.S. Probably my favorite youtube video comment ever so far)

  • @fencekid Yeah man! 6 volt batteries are really good!
I got the system on and running right now & every night..
Yeah that video update is old….but its still the same & doing great!
    Thanks for the comment!!!!!!!

  • Dude, I can’t believe it took me this long to catch your update vid on yer system! I love it bro, your layout is coming right along and looking sweet. Don’t cha just love those 6 volts? They hold a Hella! I thought I already subed…. laters

  • @collintheapplegeek Yeah its a 12 volt dump load.
I would like to get a grid tied inverter…..kinda expensive for me.

  • Is the dump load on the controller 12 volt? It would be awesome if the dump load could go to a grid inverter, but that won’t work if the dump load is 12 volt.

  • hey if you wire two 12 volt batterys to make a 24 volt do you use a 12 volt inverter?

  • @collintheapplegeek The brand is “Xantrax” I will never buy one without a dump load
    Saves the batteries!!

  • what brand is that new controller? I would love to have one with a dump load

  • Has the power output (watts/amps) from the panels decreased at all since you’ve had the system?

  • @KasirRham My bill is very low…more because I turn everything off when I am not home…I think in the long run it would be cheaper to buy LED 120v…light bulbs for the whole house…most are 4 watts.

  • so is it better than the good ole electric lights? Do you guys still have a bill?

  • ok so how long before your $60 ebay dump load deal and $8 bulbs and whatever it cost you for the solor panel start to pay you back for the start up cost of this deal, bear in mind your running 2 light bulbs and a 67 watt Tv,my guess not in your lifetime, have fun tripping over the cords in the dark

  • can u tell me how much you spent and what items are there? thanks

  • Nice work man!

  • @london1817 really ! that surprises me whats the battery brand? I think I want to check it out for myself.

  • @MegaFracture been working for years man…its all good.
