Who Is Scott Markham?

Hi, my name is Scott Markham and I'm an average Joe who happens to be passionate about the environment. Cutting edge forms of renewable energy (solar power being just one of them) are of particular interest to me.
I wholeheartedly believe that exploring new forms of energy is the best way to pass on a positive legacy to our offspring while preserving the environment.
I like to share my online research findings and discoveries with others through my blog that you're reading now...

it’s for those who like to play “house”, outside the house.
IMO, a blender is not overkill. If you want to have a blender with you when you go camping, that’s your prerogative.
Great video. You’re learning important skills for the future…peace..
looks like a great way to get outdoors
i bet your family love it
getting into this stuff myself
thanks for vid.
Looks great! Almost a “bug out” power station, if you will. Beautiful scenary as well!
I need to engineer an exhaust for my cells, with some sort of check valve….. thinking of an innertube tire cut and placed on the end of PVC as a flap. What do you think?
nice job
lol i bet it takes you 12 hours just to set up camp!! I have to admit i have been looking at the solar panels for long trip camping where i don’t see anyone or any power for several days, but all the gear required to make it work right just doesn’t make it worth it to me. I’m sure soon it will be
It is a really nice set up but overkill for camping in my opinion. What ever happened to camp fires for warmth & light or company for entertainment? I go camping to rid myself of “Things” and enjoy simplicity…
They just don’t get. This stuff is fun.
Great work and cool camp!
best thing to use for heat off of a battery is a low wattage heating blanket, it doesn’t take much to heat up the sleeping bag just don’t let it get wet
haha.. i dont’ know why it is funny but i wanted the same setup too. so i won’t laugh.
If it works for you, its OK.
I’d also like to know where you got the battery gauge.
Are you using regular car batteries or deep cycle batteries?
Those fluorescent bulbs break too easily. You should use LED’s or get the ArmorLite CFL’s.
Nice gauge were did you get it?
What do you do when it rains?
I think it’s nice you’re making your surroundings more liveable. Well done. Thanks for sharing

Hey there! I have an odd question for you. We have an old camping bronco with a roof rack. Can we safely mount a small solar panel and marine battery? The girlfriend would like heat while we are out camping…have to make her happy. Figured we could power a small space heater with the system, and have it charge back up during the day. Perhaps also power some of our axillary lighting at night, instead of running off the trucks primary battery. Thanks for any input and the shows!
Good stuff. If you are interested in solar camping gear, google e-solarproducts
this is something i did with 2 45 watt hbf panels, when i was camping, your like me and i preffer woods rather then a campground ,my panels where mounted to my boat,a v-hule ,,and my extension cord ran to my tent, good job, nice vid
Check out Goal0.com best solar gear i have ever owned
No, true.. But! a 1000w inverter consumes more power “ideling” compared with for example a 300w inverter.. It can be a big difference.. So if you don’ need the 1000w for your trip you should get the smallest possible..
the gases from the battery when chargeing can cause cancer so dont breath around it when the exhaust fan is running.
where did you get the solar panel?
