VACUUM TUBE goo.gl PARABOLIC MIRROR goo.gl This is a 29″ solar parabolic mirror made our of formed UV resistant acrylic from a parabola design. The vacuum tube is double walled borosilicate (Pyrex) glass that is crystal clear on the outer portion and an absorber layer is deposited on the inner portion. The inner portion contains a vacuum that insulates like a traditional thermos and allows for quick heat buildup, without losing a lot of heat into the surround atmosphere. The FOCAL POINT of the mirror is optimal just beyond the water container to prevent damage to the inner layer and also a wider FOCAL PATTERN provides a larger surface area for more efficient heat transfer.
